Z1 Motorsports is proud to introduce the newest addition to our downpipe product line. We are now offering our full 2.5" Stainless Steel downpipes in a 4 bolt flange to fit stock flange type turbos, including OEM turbos, JWT Sport 500, Z1 Motorsports GT500, and Z1 Motorsports GT525 kits. These downpipes feature a large diameter 50mm (2.0") turbine pipe for optimal flow and lack or interference when used with upgraded turbos that utilize bored out stock turbine housings.
The design of these downpipes caters to the dynamics that take place just after the turbine. By seperating the exhaust flow of the turbine from the flow of gases exiting the wastegate, less interference is experienced by the system. This means that more energy is put into spooling up the turbo rather than heating up the exhaust piping after it.
These downpipes dramatically increase spoolup, and show increases in power output as well! In addition to this design, we have taken it one step further to include an additional O2 sensor bung on each downpipe for use with wideband oxygen sensors. Most dyno shops charge at least $40 for the installation of one of these and they aren't going to be treating the bare metal of their welding after the install. These have the bung professionally tig welded to the tube and the entire assembly is coated. Pipes are manufactured from polished 304 Stainless Steel. These downpipe sets use a larger diameter pipe for the turbine collector to better match the diameter of an upgraded turbine wheel. This improves flow and reduces backpressure after the turbine to enhance performance and spoolup.
