Product Description

With over a year and a half in design, development, and materials testing, Z1 Motorsports’ ultra-lightweight two-piece rotors are now available. Tipping the scales at a scant 20 pounds per rotor, our two-piece design loses 10 pounds compared to the stock 30 pound 370z sport rotors, a weight savings of 33%. By significantly reducing the rotors’ unsprung mass, the front of your Nissan or Infiniti car comes to life. This results in noticeably more nimble handling, sharper turn-in, and remarkable response, all while allowing the car to be pushed deeper into the braking zone.

With the ideal of ultimate performance in mind, Z1 Motorsports’ Two-Piece Rotors are rigorously tested on Z1 Motorsports’ own high-powered street and track cars. Competing in everything from Global Time Attack to local track days and aggressive street driving, these rotors have been repeatedly torture tested while keeping these cars highly competitive.

Standard features of the Z1 Motorsports Two-Piece Akebono Front Rotors include:

Lightweight Design
A two-piece design drops weight by 10 pounds per rotor, 20 pounds total of unsprung mass. Lightweight rotor hats are machined from forged 6061 aluminum blanks, and finished with heat treating and premium black-hard anodizing.

Performance Cooling Geometry
A departure from traditional rotors, Z1 Motorsports’ two-piece configuration also facilitates two modes of cooling. An expanding directional vane cooling tract that is 60% wider than OEM specifications has proven to perform better than straight or pillar style rotors, while the open face design allows for a higher volume of axial air flow.

Precision Manufactured Alloy Irons
Alloy rotor irons are heat-treated and stress relieved to deliver the best performance in all conditions. This process keeps the disc stable at extreme temperatures and minimizes the effects of warping and cracking, resulting in increased rotor life and maximized performance. Held to precise specifications, rotors are dynamically balanced after assembly and precision parallel ground. Available in high performance slotted or drilled & slotted rotor configuration.

Black Electrophoretic Deposition Coating
The rotor is finished off with a tough e-coat (EPD) to keep it from rusting and give it more resistance to breakdown at extreme temperatures. The electronic particle deposition process ensures an even coating of all surfaces and excessive corrosion protection.

Complete Zinc Coated, SAE Graded Hardware
Fastening hardware includes heat-treated M6 slot nuts and quenched and tempered SAE Grade 10.9 bolts, larger fasteners than the majority of our competitors’ 2-piece brake rotor hardware. These heavy-duty fasteners translate to higher proof strength, especially critical in systems as crucial as braking.

I can't say enough about these rotors. I was going through a set of OEM rotors with Carbotech XP20s a weekend on our track only 370z. I switched to these with the hope that I could go longer between rebuilds. I have to say that they have more than lived up to my expectations. This is another example of why Z1 Motorsports is the top dog in the Z and G game. On a recent track day at Road Atlanta I had a wheel hub fail doing 90mph. The full load of the left front side was on the rotor holding the tire on and after getting the car back to the shop and measuring the runout it was still perfect. I am brutal on my brake system and the Z1 Motorsports rotors take the punishment and keep smiling. I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone wanting a superior upgrade to the OEM rotors.

I would highly recommend these brakes and the rears along with a decent brake pad to anyone looking to get optimum performance out of their platform. Specifically the Q50 and Q60’s which are already pretty heavy. The 30 lbs in unsprung weight savings across the board was a huge improvement. I love them!! i dont have a Z but it made a big differences on my 2016 maxima sr, gain back my loss HP went i did the big brake kit, went from 32 pound rotor to this light 19 pound rotos. This week i will do my rear.

Recently installed these amazing rotors on my 08 G37s. I immediately felt the performance and weight difference. i highly recommend them to anyone. I currently have z1 SS brake lines, motul 600 brake fluid, akebono ultra-premium ceramic brake pads and brake master cylinder brace. Thank you Z1.

I've done a lot of track days over the years and more recently Time Trials and actual racing. I've used several different types of rotors, from OEM to the $600ea. 2-piece DBA 5000 series. Most recently I've been using these, the Z1 rotors. When I received them I immediately noticed how much lighter they were even compared to the DBA's. I also noticed that that was largely due to less material making up the rotors disks. I was a then just slightly wary of their heat absorbing capability. Well, after several track weekends they are holding up great and appear to be, if anything, more warp resistant than anything I've used so far. Though some heat stress fractures are showing up -totally normal-, it's still minimal, indicating a good consistent density/alloy composition. I haven't had any hot spotting issues either. Obviously the discs themselves are replaceable, increasing the value long term. Switching between my track pads (Carbotech XP20s) and street pads (Stoptech Street Performance) has caused zero issues. Just let the race pads scrub off the transfer layer before swapping back. To sum it up: the cost/performance value of these seems to be practically unbeatable. It doesn't hurt that they also look pretty dang cool!

had these for about 20k miles, they have performed flawlessly. whether carbotech xp12 for track days or posiquiets for around town, they've held up.
