For drivers looking to upgrade their braking performance without stepping up to a full race-oriented system, the Z1 Touring Big Brake Kit delivers the perfect balance of performance, weight, and simplicity.

Designed as a lightweight, motorsport-inspired braking package, the Touring kit provides substantial improvements in braking power, heat capacity, and pedal feel over the factory base brake system while maintaining excellent street manners. Its moderate rotor size and efficient caliper design make it an ideal solution for spirited street driving, canyon runs, and occasional track days.

Unlike many big brake upgrades, the Touring kit is engineered as a true bolt-on system for the 300ZX, requiring no caliper adapters or complex installation hardware. This allows for a clean installation while retaining proper caliper positioning and factory geometry. The Touring Brake Kit utilizes forged 4-piston front calipers paired with 12.8" rotors, along with 2-piston rear calipers and matching 12.7" rotors, providing balanced braking performance and improved thermal management compared to the factory braking system. In addition to improved braking performance, the compact size of the Touring kit provides significantly more brake-to-wheel clearance than our other big brake kits, letting you run smaller, lighter wheels under 18".

BUILD YOUR BRAKE KIT

The Touring Big Brake Kit can be customized with a range of component options, allowing you to balance performance, cost, and durability. Choose from street-friendly or track-capable brake pads, and select between one-piece rotors for value or two-piece rotors for reduced weight and improved heat management.

Brake Calipers - Similar to the factory Track and Grand Touring model brake calipers, these are an easy bolt-on solution that provide a substantial increase in braking potential over factory base model brakes. These calipers feature fully forged aluminum bodies, making them more durable and rigid than their cast aluminum counterparts. Each caliper is anodized prior to powdercoat, increasing finish durability and providing enhanced protection against surface oxidation. Calipers are available in your choice of Black, Yellow, or Red and feature an engraved Z1 logo painted in a high-contrast color.

Brake Rotors - Choose between standard, single-piece Performance Brake Rotors and Z1's 2-Piece Brake Rotors. 2-piece rotors reduce weight and improve heat management for better performance under demanding driving conditions.

Brake Pads - Select the brake pad that best suits your driving style. Z1 Ceramic Street pads are recommended for most vehicles, offering low dust and consistent street performance. Hawk HPS 5.0 pads provide increased stopping power and improved fade resistance for spirited driving. For light-duty track use, Hawk HP Plus pads deliver higher performance, though with increased dust and noise on the street. Looking for something else? Brake Lines - Choose to add stainless steel brake lines to your order. Z1 stainless steel brake lines reduce flex when pressure is applied, improving pedal feel and braking performance. These are required to complete the installation. If you don't already have stainless steel brake lines with banjo ends, you will need to purchase a set!

Brake Fluid - In the product options, you can choose to add two bottles of Motul 5.1 or Motul RBF 600 brake fluid. High-temperature brake fluid is recommended for any cars that are driven in an aggressive manner, from high-speed pulls to mountain runs or track days.
