Z1's Hybrid Monoball Rear Spring Bucket Bushings replace your 370Z or G37's factory rubber bushings with a durable, performance-focused solution. By installing Z1 Monoball bushings, you'll notice a positive increase in feedback and feel without the uncomfortable feeling that comes from spherical all-metal bushings.
Why hybrid monoball?
For proper suspension function, it’s important that joints are able to move freely in multiple directions — what’s known as multi-axial movement. Different bushing designs handle this in different ways, each with its own trade-offs:
-
Factory rubber bushings can articulate, but they also allow for excess movement that increases as the rubber wears out.
-
Urethane bushings are stiffer and good for static applications, but they don’t allow for true articulation in moving suspension points.
-
Steel spherical bearings articulate freely, but they transmit a high level of NVH (noise, vibration, harshness) into the chassis.
Z1’s Hybrid Monoball bushings provide the ideal middle ground. They operate like spherical bearings, but thanks to their Delrin outer race, they absorb harshness while still giving you precise feedback and response. This unique construction gives you the best of both worlds: articulation without binding, reduced compliance compared to rubber, and a smoother, more refined feel than full-metal bushings.
The bushing’s body and ball shaft are built from steel for maximum durability, while a Delrin core forms the bearing surface of the monoball. This design helps absorb chassis vibrations without dulling driver feedback, striking a balance between comfort and performance. To ensure longevity, each bushing is sealed with neoprene rubber boots that protect the joint from dirt, dust, debris, and moisture.
