The transmission used in the 2003-2006 Nissan 350Z (Z33) and Infiniti G35 (V35) is the same unit used in the RHD / Japanese market. Because the LHD models had the starter located on the opposite side of the transmission to clear steering linkages, accommodations were made to allow starter to be located without manufacturing separate bellhousings for LHD and RHD markets. This meant that the alternate starter location had to be covered to prevent dirt and other debris from contacting the flywheel and clutch assembly.

This plate bolts in place of the alternate (RHD) starter location on the drivers side of all 2003-2006 350Z / G35 models equipped with a VQ35DE powertrain.
