Product Description

The Quaife Automatic Torque Biasing (ATB) differential enables your car to accelerate quicker and corner faster. How? By getting the power to the ground!

The Quaife differential powers both drive wheels under nearly all conditions, instead of just one. With an ordinary open differential, standard on most cars, a lot of precious power is wasted during wheelspin under acceleration. This happens because the open differential shifts power to the wheel with less grip (along the path of least resistance). The Quaife, however, does just the opposite. It senses which wheel has the better grip, and biases the power to that wheel. It does this smoothly and constantly and without ever completely removing power from the other wheel.

In drag-race style, straight-line acceleration runs, this results in a close to ideal 50/50 power split to both drive wheels, resulting in essentially twice the grip of an ordinary differential (they don't call open diffs "peg legs" for nothing).

In cornering, while accelerating out of a turn, the Quaife biases power to the outside wheel, reducing inside-wheel spin. This allows the driver to begin accelerating earlier, exiting the corner at a higher speed.

The Quaife also controls loss of traction when the front wheels are on slippery surfaces such as ice and snow or mud, providing the appropriate biased traction needed to overcome these adverse conditions. The Quaife differential provides constant and infinitely variable drive. Power is transferred automatically without the use of normal friction pads or plates seen in other limited-slip designs.

Quaife Differentials require no modification to install in a Base model vehicle with open style factory diff.  However if your car is equipped with a factory LSD you have two possible options to properly install an aftermarket Limited Slip Differential:

A) Purchase a Base Model LSD and add the optional Stub Shaft assembly
B) Purchase the Factory LSD Model Differential and DO NOT purchase the Stub Shaft assembly, this will require the long stub shaft to be machined. 

Please note:  Both versions of the Quaife Differential are identical in operation and specifications.

When installing this differential into your factory case you will find that removing the bearings on the diff to be nearly impossible. Choose to add a new side bearings and seals as an option below.

I have a 14 auto with an open diff. Is this a direct fit besides shimming and backlash adjustement.
Yes, As long as you select the Base Automatic option. You will need side bearings and likely shims for the install.
Do i need to purchase stub axle flanges to install on my 03 base 350z
No you can just purchase the base model Quaife.

Supreme grip. Totally complements 2 distinct car characteristics; attesa awd system, and aftermarket suspension upgrades. Tires will break loose in certain conditions. Completely manageable, and subsequent behavior is predictable. Works great with the direct feel of performance bushings links and bars. Works great with awd system.

Installed the QDF10L (2011 Touring Base Automatic) and there's such a difference in what I had vs. this differential. Quaife seems to be the only company that manufactures a carrier without having to use various stub shafts, merely order based on what you have on the car and install it. This is a helical or Torsen torque biasing differential. It's very quiet and very good for a daily driver. Didn't have to shim so I got lucky. Instead of spinning and going nowhere, my car grabs and launches. There's a major highway that I have to cross going into work. Before if I punched it, the car would spin, traction control would pull back power and my life would flash before my eyes. Now, the car grabs and doesn't try to kill me. It's a pricey unit, but I believe for a daily driver, this is the best differential carrier out there. No clutches, special friction modifier or break in required. The 370z should have come with this differential from the factory.

I installed this into a 2006 Base Model 350z. Stock config had an open differential. The instant I got my Z back from the Transmission shop with this installed, I quickly noticed the difference in cornering. You can definitely feel a controlled ability to steer with your gas pedal in tight corners. You really feel the difference on traction when you are on uneven ground as well. Highly recommend
