This harness is responsible for allowing the ECM to communicate with all of the various sensors as well as control injectors and ignition coils. Because of the age of these cars coupled with the high-heat conditions under the hood the original wiring and connectors can break apart. When this occurs, this can lead to Check Engine Light illumination followed by misfires, hesitation, and a variety of other issues. Factory harnesses are quite complicated and often times can be more costly to repair than to replace.
