Z1's Touring Exhaust for the 2-seater Nissan 300ZX is the next in our line of premium exhaust systems for Nissan Z cars. During development, our engineering team's focus was to create an exhaust system that was capable of supporting exceptional amounts of power while maintaining an appropriate sound level and tone. This was accomplished through the use of mandrel bent piping and our free-flowing muffler design. The Z1 Touring Exhaust also provides optimal clearance with TwinZ Design rear bumpers!
The Construction
Behind the h-pipe, cast stainless steel flanges are welded to 3'' stainless steel piping. From there, mandrel bent piping leads to the heart of the exhaust system: the dual 11'' mufflers. These high-flowing mufflers feature a dual-layer packing with an inner layer of stainless-steel packing and an outer layer of fiberglass held in place by a perforated stainless-steel core. Rather than using baffle plates and resonance chambers that negatively affect power, our mufflers use full-length perforated tubes, allowing exhaust gasses to flow through the muffler un-obstructed. As gasses pass through the muffler, the exhaust sound is dampened through the dual-layer packing, reducing exhaust volume while maintaining an appropriate exhaust tone. Each muffler has a brushed finish and includes a set of finely crafted stainless steel exhaust tips, with your choice of finish!
The Performance
The Z1 Touring Exhaust was developed to complement the VG30 engine in your Z32 and can support immense levels of power in Twin-Turbo applications! The dyno graph below was captured on a 300ZX sporting a set of Z1's VGX800 Turbochargers, the 3'' Catback Touring Exhaust, all of the necessary fueling and induction modifications. It produced an astounding 668whp and 586wtq on 104-octane race fuel and the stock rotating assembly, only held back by the owner's wallet.
