Located on the front of the motor in your 2016+ Infiniti Q50/Q60 this belt the idler pulley is responsible for guiding and maintaining tension with the drive belt. As the bearings in the pulley wear, you may begin to experience a high pitch squeaking or squealing. Over time this may result in complete bearing failure, causing the pulley to lock up and break the belt.

There are TWO idler pulleys on the front of your VR30DDTT. This pulley, identified as the 'lower' is shown in the parts diagram below.

NOTE: Whenever idler or tensioner pulleys are replaced due to failure, it is important to carefully inspect the belt for excessive wear. New OEM drive belts can be purchased HERE if necessary.
