This Evaporative Emissions Canister Hose is located behind the rear tires on various 2003+ Nissan Z and G models and is used to control the flow of harmful vapors in the fuel system, and prevent them from being purged back into the atmosphere.
Because this hoses are located under the vehicles, they are commonly damaged in rear and side impact collisions and may be damaged from rocks or other road debris. When this hose is damaged, they can result in a Check Engine Light illumination and various associated codes.
