HKS SSQV4 Black Edition Blow Off Valve Kit (BOV) - 300ZX

First off, let me just say, thank you HKS for making these in black! They look great (even though they aren't visible unless the bumper is off). Installation was fairly straight forward using the install instructions, although some of the images are very hard to see. I ended up watching a few videos online to get some additonal help. Once installed, I took the car out for a test drive and was very happy with the result. Boost builds way faster after dropping the throttle now and the sound is awesome! Tips to make things easier: - You will want to remove the electric fan when installing these. Otherwise, you will have a nightmare of a time trying to remove the back mounting bolts for the factory recirclation valves. The fan comes off easily by simply removing the two bolts at the top and tilting it forward while pulling up. - Use a pair of adjusting pliars to help loosen the hoses on the recirculation valve before attempting to remove them. Just squeeze the hose lightly and rotate left and right until you notice it has broken free of the pipe. This also works when removing the hoses from the intake tube. - It isn't totally necessary to remove the front bumper but it definately helps if you do because you will have a ton more room to work. If you are removing the bumper, you will want to remove the two turn signals but NOT the fog lights. Those are mounted to the frame behind the bumper and do not prevent the bumper from coming off. Above the turn signals are two nuts on each side. Those need to come off but will require some patience as they sit at a slant. My advice is to use a light to locate them, then remove/reinstall using a socket with an extension.
