Z1's 2023+ Nissan Z Clutch and Flywheel Kit is a high-performing lightweight clutch kit for heavy-duty street and race track applications. It was developed to support power levels ranging from stock to well over 700whp while also improving engine response and pedal feel.
When we first drove the new Nissan Z, it was obvious to us that the clutch was going to be one of the first upgrades we completed. When we pulled the transmission to look at the OEM parts, we were surprised by what we found. The clutch on the 2023+ Z is made up of the heaviest clutch components we've ever seen on a Z, weighing in at a hefty 55lbs! The stock disc weighed in at 4.5lbs, the heaviest clutch disc we've ever seen in a Nissan Z. We feel that this contributed in large part to the poor shifting performance and gear grinds described by reviewers and enthusiasts when the car was released. After making this observation, improving the weight of the overall clutch assembly became an important goal of ours to speed up shifts, improve engine response, and increase synchronizer longevity.
FEATURES AND BENEFITS
Z1's performance clutch employs a heavy-duty rivet-style pressure plate that offers a 28% increase in clamping force over the factory unit, offering much greater torque capacity. When purchased with one of our lightweight discs, Z1's Performance Clutch minimizes wear on synchro's by reducing weight on the input shaft. This also helps to improve shifting performance at high RPM's, where your car is meant to be driven. A Z1 Lightweight Flywheel is also included, reducing weight by nearly 20lbs over the stock dual-mass flywheel. Our kit also includes a new throwout bearing sleeve and OE Koyo throwout bearing. When combined with our lightest clutch disc, you'll experience a 40% weight savings over the stock clutch assembly, resulting in quicker spool times, better shifting performance, and longer synchro life.
Three different disc options are available, providing 11-38% reduction in disc weight. Both full-face discs have reverse shear protection and employ Marcel springs to improve performance on the street.
- Z1 Sprung Hub Full Face (Standard) - This disc is a great choice for street-driven cars. The sprung hub allows for easy engagement with minimal noise and also works well for stock-like driveability in moderate to high horsepower applications. Estimated torque capacity with this disc is 550ft-lb. Disc weight: 3.5lbs
- Z1 Unsprung Full Face - This disc is a great choice for street and track cars that want the lightest disc. The unsprung hub allows for more aggressive engagement in moderate to high horsepower applications. These clutches have a more 'harsh' engagement than a standard sprung hub clutch, so some adjustment to your driving style may be necessary on street-driven applications. Estimated torque capacity with this disc is 550ft-lb. Disc weight: 2.8lbs
- Z1 Ceramic 6-Puck - This disc is best suited for high-horsepower cars, and has the most aggressive engagement of the three options. Engagement is quick due to it's 6-puck design, so some adjustment to driving style will be needed to compensate for its aggressive engagement, however, this disc can still be used on street-driven cars. Estimated torque capacity with this disc is 700ft-lb. Disc weight: 4.0lbs

Fits:
When converting from a dampened dual-mass flywheel to a solid lightweight flywheel, it is normal to experience some noise characterized as "chatter" at idle and low speed. This results from the removal of the heavy dampened flywheel, and is in no way a sign of a mechanical issue. This is a normal characteristic of all lightweight clutches.
