The Upper Intake Manifold is responsible for delegating the air coming in from the throttle body to the different cylinder channels that lead to the lower plenum. Due to this manifold being made of plastic, it may crack and cause air to leak in if exposed to extreme heat, or even if it is torqued down too much.
