This Sprocket is located behind the timing cover, pressed onto the front of the crankshaft. Normally, it needs to be removed from the crankshaft to replace the front main seal, and should be replaced whenever servicing timing components. These Sprockets also wear down or lose teeth over time which can cause slipping and damage to the engine.
