At a predetermined vacuum, the radiator cap allows coolant to be sucked from the reservoir back into the engine for proper cooling. This hose is responsible for any coolant being transferred back into the radiator. This hose wears down over time which can cause leaks and engine overheating. This hose is also prone to front end collisions.
