If servicing your suspension or upgrading to new shocks, don't leave the delicate chrome piston rod and seals exposed to elements. Without the Rear Dust Boot, premature wear and failure will result. This boot also encompasses the rear bump stop. This boot protects the shock and prevents dirt / debris from getting around the shaft or seal.
