Z1's VGX800 Turbochargers are the most recent product in our line of complete turbo kits for the 1990+ 300ZX. They offer more performance potential than any other product in our catalog, supporting up to 800hp with the correct supporting modifications. These turbos flow similarly to our GTX2867 kit while maintaining similar response characteristics to the GTX2860, making them a great option for mild to wild cars.
VGX800's are a 5-bolt, journal-bearing turbo sporting a .60 A/R compressor housing and billet compressor wheel. They feature a custom anti-surge compressor cover and come pre-clocked, making them a 100% bolt-on turbo with no necessary modifications to the turbo or the car. The kit includes all installation components necessary, including oil lines, gaskets, hardware, and silicone hoses.
VGX800 Features and enhancements:
These use brand-new compressor and turbine housings, designed specifically to house the larger compressor and turbine wheels. Inside the compressor housing, you'll find a lightweight billet compressor wheel, helping contribute to their excellent response. We have also employed a 360-degree thrust bearing assembly to further improve the longevity of these turbochargers. The inclusion of a .64 A/R turbine housing provides exceptional response without becoming a restriction at higher power levels. It also maintains great spool characteristics in mild street-driven applications.
The first dyno graph below highlights the efficiency of these turbos, producing 553whp and 535wtq at only 20PSI of boost!
The second dyno graph below was captured on a 300ZX sporting a set of Z1's VGX800 Turbochargers, the 3'' Catback Touring Exhaust, and all of the necessary fueling and induction modifications. It produced an astounding 689whp and 607wtq on 104-octane race fuel and the stock rotating assembly, only held back by the fuel system and the owner's wallet.

Installation Note: As is the case with any turbo larger than stock, slight trimming of the motor mounts and clocking of the turbo may be necessary if using aftermarket exhaust manifolds. This is dependent on the installer and the use of other aftermarket parts.
