Complete 300ZX (Z32) Dual Air Intake System includes everything you need to complete this modification. This upgrade eliminates the restrictive "T" in the stock intake tract where vacuum from each side of the engine opposes each other, resulting in improved response and power throughout the RPM range. Silicone couplers are available in Black, Red, & Blue colors as an option below.
Complete Z32 Dual Intake System Includes:
Requires (2) filter assemblies. If you have (1) existing "pop charger" style intake you will only need the one filter that is included. If necessary an additional Z1 High flow intake can be purchased as an option below.
A Selin Dual MAF Translator was included with this kit, now discontinued and replaced with Z1's DISCO Box. The DISCO Box will allow you to eliminate the need for an idle air balance kit or low speed drive-ability modifications. It does require a secondary MAF sensor. We recommend selecting a new Mass Air Flow Sensor as an option below.
This kit can be used without an ECU upgrade with the DISCO Box on the "ADD" configuration. However for high horsepower systems over 500 rwhp, the "AVERAGE" should be used which requires an EPROM upgrade to raise the airflow level recognized by the ECU. A Z1 EPROM upgrade is available as an option below. If selecting EPROM upgrade please specify Year, Injector Size, Auto or Manual, Fuel Type in the comments section of your order.
THE GAINS
In testing, we re-installed a single intake with pop charger on our TwinZ 300ZX to find the actual gains realized by converting to a true-dual intake with the DISCO Box. Installing the dual intake with no changes to tune we were able to gain nearly 30whp by just getting rid of the stock restrictive intake t-coupler. The turbos loved the extra air as well, and the car maintained power longer in the top of the powerband.
