Z1's Forged Front Upper Control Arms for the Nissan 370Z and Infiniti G37 provide a high range of adjustment for the front suspension and allow you to correct alignment on lowered cars. Constructed with fully forged bodies, the Z1 Forged Front Upper Control Arms are built to withstand the demands of aggressive driving and deliver exceptional strength and durability. The forging process ensures superior durability, allowing you to push your car to the limits with confidence.
By incorporating double adjusters, Z1 Forged Control Arms give you the power to fine-tune your alignment without removing the arms from the car. This allows you to make quick and precise adjustments to meet your specific driving preferences or track conditions. With a full metal bearing and 60 degrees of articulation, this ball joint ensures smooth suspension movement, even under extreme driving conditions. The greaseable ball joint makes maintenance easy while stainless steel double adjusters guarantee they won’t rust or seize to the arm, extending service life.
Caster is a critical suspension angle that significantly affects steering feel and stability. By increasing the caster to approximately 7.5°, the Z1 Forged Control Arms enhance the vehicle's straight-line stability while maintaining appropriate turn-in response, making for a more engaging and confident driving experience. Positive caster has the secondary benefit of improving camber when cornering. The inside wheel gains more positive camber, helping the tire achieve its maximum contact patch.
STREET VS RACE
Like Z1's other suspension arms, two versions of the forged arms are available for purchase. The street version features fully forged bushing ends loaded with Energy Suspension urethane bushings. This provides the most appropriate feel for street-driven cars and offers the least amount of NVH. They are fully serviceable with replacement bushings available and a grease fitting on top for easy routine service.
The race version is ideal for those looking to maximize performance and aren't concerned about increases in NVH. Solid heim-style bushing ends eliminate bushing deflection, providing the most direct feel. The race end's slightly shorter overall length provides more negative camber than the street version. This is ideal for track cars and those looking for more adjustability. Another benefit to the race version is the ability to fine-tune the caster by lengthening the adjuster on one side of the arm. This is only possible on the race version, as the heim joint provides more articulation whereas this is not possible with urethane bushings.
Detailed Specs:
- 7.5° of caster
- 3.8° of camber adjustment range
- Street version: 0.0° to -3.8°
- Race version: -0.8° to -4.6°
The specifications above were captured on a 2023 Z, lowered approximately 1.3'' on Z1 R-Pro Coilovers. Bear in mind, your maximum positive and negative camber will vary depending on ride height of your car; however, at any height you can expect to see 3.8° of camber adjustment range.
Please note: When used on a G37 Sedan stock height cars will not be able to achieve as much negative camber as advertised above. This is due to the shorter overall length of the factory upper arm. Stock and lowered cars will still have enough adjustment range to achieve correct alignment.
