When Nissan released the 370Z in 2009, it carried over the 350Z's speed-sensitive power steering system. This system was designed to automatically adjust steering effort with vehicle speed, providing lighter input at low speeds and a more weighted feel at higher speeds. While ideal for casual driving, many performance drivers found the constantly changing steering feedback to be unpredictable, especially during track sessions, drifting, or competitive driving.
Z1’s Speed-Sensitive Steering Delete Plug installs directly in place of the factory solenoid on the rack and pinion, disabling the variable assist system and restoring a consistent, linear steering feel—precisely what enthusiasts expect from a performance-focused chassis like the Z34. This leaves the driver with the same light effort at low and high speeds. No error codes or lights are present after the removal of the solenoid.
To aid in the removal of the factory solenoid, a compact tool is included with all kits.
