On the VR30DDTT, Nissan utilizes a technology known as VTC, or Variable Timing Control. VTC varies camshaft timing by rotating the affected camshaft relative to the sprocket using a series of electronic actuators and hydraulic solenoids.

OEM VTC Solenoids are located on the bottom of the VTC covers and fit all VR30DDTT equipped Nissan and Infiniti models. These actuators are identical on both side covers.
