Z1's Carbon Fiber Driveshaft replaces your RWD Q50 or Q60's stock 2-piece steel driveshaft with a single-piece shaft, made from lightweight and durable carbon fiber. The 1-piece design eliminates the center carrier bearing support, thus contributing to weight loss and eliminating failure points in the driveline. Z1's shaft is high-speed balanced to minimize vibrations and offer the least amount of noise for a 2-piece shaft. This maintains similar ride characteristics to the OEM 2-piece shaft. With a torque rating of over 3000 lb-ft, this shaft is ready for whatever you throw at it, from the street to the strip.
Why carbon fiber?
Carbon fiber has two unique advantages when used in the construction of driveshafts. Primarily, they offer significant advantages in weight reduction, which improves response and provides more effective power delivery. Carbon fiber also has a lower torsional spring rate than aluminum, allowing it to act as a torsional damper in peak torque application scenarios. This means better application of power with a reduced chance of breaking costly drivetrain components.
