The pinnacle model of the RB26 complete engine. Thanks to the newly developed two-piece piston, stroke and connecting rod length are increased while maintaining the same block height. By making the piston a two-piece design and raising the pin position, it became possible to reduce the compression height. This enabled a longer connecting rod and a higher connecting-stalk ratio without increasing deck height. Furthermore, the piston is extremely lightweight at 313g and also features a cooling channel for oil cooling.

Features and Benefits

• The 3.0L-specific crankshaft is a full counter-steel design machined from nitrided steel, and its surface hardness has been maximized through ion nitriding treatment, improving its fatigue strength
• To accommodate increased torque, a special I-beam connecting rod was adopted, improving buckling strength by 36%. Additionally, a thicker piston pin was used
• To address the heat generated by the increased power output, we changed the valve guides and seat materials, and adopted a sodium-filled exhaust valve and a piston with a cooling channel
• The dedicated 36-tooth crank angle sensor and the crank angle sensor for V-CAM improve signal accuracy in the high-RPM range
