This undershroud made of a fiber consistency attaches underneath the motor between the lower core support and front suspension crossmember. Its missing or critically damaged on at least half of the 300zx's we service. Although it is a good idea to have it in place. It sheilds road debris, water, and everything else from the front side of the engine including the accessory belts. Keeps road grime out of the engine bay, keeping the engine and bay cleaner longer. A must have for those running exposed timing belts.
