Located under the driver side of the dash board, this cable is used to remotely release the hood from inside the vehicle. Over time these cables are prone to stretch and wear out as a result of usage. This is one of two cables identified as the "long" cable that connect to the cable that the driver pulls to release the hood. This cable is also prone to front end and side collisions.
