
Z1's VGX700B Ball Bearing Turbochargers are the latest iteration of Z1's VGX turbo kits for the 1990+ 300ZX.. They are similar in size to the original VGX800B Turbochargers, but use a slightly smaller compressor wheel to offer greater response and spool characteristics. They offer an excellent value and performance potential for stock and built engines, supporting in excess of 600hp with the correct supporting modifications.
VGX700B's are a 5-bolt, ball-bearing turbo sporting a .60 A/R compressor housing and billet compressor wheel. They feature a custom anti-surge compressor cover and come pre-clocked, making them a 100% bolt-on turbo with no necessary modifications to the turbo or the car. The kit includes all installation components necessary, including oil lines, gaskets, hardware, and silicone hoses.

These use brand-new compressor and turbine housings, designed specifically to house the larger compressor and turbine wheels. Inside the compressor housing, you'll find a lightweight billet compressor wheel, helping contribute to their excellent response. We have also employed a ball bearing CHRA assembly to further improve the longevity and response of these turbochargers. The inclusion of a .64 A/R turbine housing provides exceptional response without becoming a restriction at higher power levels. It also maintains great spool characteristics in mild street-driven applications.
The dyno graph below illustrates the gains on our TwinZ 300ZX. This car is sporting a 100% stock VG30 with smaller auto cams and produced a whopping 537whp and 484wtq on 93 octane fuel.

Installation Note: As is the case with any turbo larger than stock, slight trimming of the motor mounts and clocking of the turbo may be necessary if using aftermarket exhaust manifolds. This is dependent on the installer and the use of other aftermarket parts. It is also possible that your downpipes made need clearancing to fit the large wastegate.
