Product Description
Frustrated by the goofy hood prop rod embarrassing you at car shows and getting in the way while you are working under the hood? The Z1 High-Lift Hood Strut Kit fits all '03-'08 350Z models and replaces the original hood prop rod with two high-lift gas-charged hood struts for a cleaner-looking engine bay and easier service. After installation, you gain an additional 12'' of underhood space at the leading edge of the hood.
Installation is simple; the provided mounting bracket and ball stud are installed in existing holes on your Z's chassis, and no modification to the chassis is required. You will have to trim the black plastic battery cover shroud and brake fluid reservoir shroud to install the lower mounting stud.
These hood struts are intended for OE aluminum hoods only. Use with fiberglass or carbon fiber hoods may lead to cracks in the center of the hood while closing.
Each kit includes:
- 2 - Z1 hood struts
- 2 - Lower Mounting ball studs (with captive washer)
- 2 - Hood Mounting Brackets
- Installation Instructions
Each kit is covered by a one year warranty.

Grade a in construction and feel. The only concern i have using these is when you let the struts extend on their own, they are a little over pressured for my feel and paranoia hits my head thinking it'll crack my windshield, but no contact made, but it is a little scary. would advise letting the struts come up holding with hand to slow it down a little if you're paranoid like me

This has been one of the best purchases I have made for my Z. It makes the car much easier to work on when doing anything under the hood. It pulls the hood very high and feels stable. Installation was easy and only took about 10-15 minutes.

These hood struts are a game changer! They lift the hood much higher than the original and make it a snap to open/close the hood. Working in the engine bay is now easier than ever as there is no arm in the way to hold the hood up and I'm no longer banging my head while working under it. These were super easy to install and took about 10mns per side. If you don't already have these, get them now!!

These hood struts are a must have! Not only do they allow the hood to open beyond the conventional point. They make ease of working on the engine bay components with a higher open hood angle. And they make a great show car item!

Good quality, fit and finish.
I watched the install video which showed what was included in the kit. The video stated and showed paper instructions. There were none in my packaging. Now I am an old guy so still like paper but was able to access and print. Not a huge deal but would rather have had it from the get go.

Great product! Quick and easy to install, looks and fits great, and for $100 is easily the most worthwhile mod I’ve done so far. These lift the hood much higher than the stock hood prop and don’t allow it to come crashing down with a gust of wind like it used to. Only regret is that I didn’t buy them sooner

I show my car at car shows a lot and really wanted to replace the ugly factory hood prop and this set was exactly what I needed. The brackets fit perfectly against the factory hood hinges and look like they were always meant to be there. As a bonus they open the hood up higher which is great for showing at car shows. I will also note that since they mount to the side of the engine bay you don’t need to remove them or the hood to pull the engine, I was able to pull and install an engine with no interference from hood height

These were super easy and quick to install! It really is best if you have someone to assist holding the side you're working on however.
Compared to the default "stick" style, SOOO much more room under the hood.

After about 5 months of not having a hood prop anymore because I replaced my broken core support, I decided to stop using a 10 lbs crow bar (ol persuader) and buy these struts.
Now my hood opens on its own, preparing itself to be blasted off into the atmosphere by the SpaceX program. No more are the days of a janky cereal box toy prop rod. No more are the days of trusting ol persuader to not slip and bonk you in the noggin then come in for the double tap with the hood.
10/10 recommend to all spaceships......and Z's too.

These hood struts work flawlessly and were easy to install. The hood prop that originally came on my 2004 Z, were more suitable for a cheapie econo car than my 350Z.
I am now considering the intake spacer from Z1.

This is the best modification I have done to my car. The prop rod on this car is absolute shit for working in/around the engine bay.
Easily worth the money. Simple install, did it my self in about 10 minutes taking my time to dremel the plastic cover perfectly. I waited to long to do this. Z1 offers a great product

Had this for a while now and it's the best mod I've done to my oil burner. No worry's about the wind taking the hood to the windshield on a crappy day. No need to mess with the prop every time you add oil. Oh and it opens the hood more for
extra space when you change your cam sensors again. Worth every penny.

Strong struts, installed no problems but do not seem to pop the hatch off the latched position when hitting the release. Had no problems with that before I changed to the new ones, It just used to drop on my head.

Very nice! The appeal of not having to look at the dinky little hood prop is why I bought it but once installing it it now not only looks great but it lets so much more light into the engine bay while working on it and also opens up a lot more so there is much more room for activities. I would buy again.

Perfect fit. Took about 25 minutes. I used a 3/4” hole saw in my Ryobi drill to cut a hole in the shroud plastic. I thought there should be some color options or chrome, carbon fiber or stainless steel finish.
