Product Description

For those of you looking for increased performance off the line we now offer this Nissan OEM final drive ring and pinion gear set.  These gears will fit 03+ model differentials, manual transmission model cars only, and will increase acceleration.  This of course comes at a trade off of higher cruise speed RPM and decreased fuel mileage.

We offer an installation kit that contains all new Nissan OEM bearings and seals. We highly recommend the purchase and use of this install kit.  Please note that installing a ring and pinion requires precision setting of the bearing pre-load and clearances to complete the job. When installing be sure to keep the factory shims in their respective locations. Shims should not need to be changed.

Included in the Bearing and Seal Kit:

  • 2 X Nissan OEM Differential Side Carrier Bearings
  • 2 X Nissan OEM Differential Side Oil Seals
  • 1 X Nissan OEM Inner "Back" Pinion Gear Bearing
  • 1 X Nissan OEM Pinion Crush Sleeve
  • 1 X Nissan OEM Outer "Front" Pinion Gear Bearing
  • 1 X Nissan OEM Pinion Oil Seal
  • 1 X Permatex Ultra Gray Gasket Maker

It is highly recommended that an experienced mechanic install this ring and pinion gear set as excessive noise or even catastrophic failure can result from improper installation.  If you would like to have your gear set installed at Z1, please contact us at [email protected] for an installed price.

Just confirming this will go straight into manual diff and what would the cost of shipping be to Australia? Also could i please have the part numbers for install kit? E.g bearings, shims and seals etc
Yes these gear ratios will fit the manual differential carrier. We use OEM replacement parts for the install kit.
Hi, i would like to know if these gears are compatible with AT Differential Carriers, 2010. Thanks Rej
The LSD/carrier has a .4" difference in offset. You can use the cast iron housing but you will need a "manual" LSD. Depending on vehicle we may also need to confirm the companion flange style? 3 bolt Quibo coupling or 4 bolt companion flange?
Will this upgrade need the limited slip differential replacement also or the gear change itself will work with the stock of my 2005 automatic 350 Z
You will need a "Manual" Differential. The automatic and manual versions are offset differently. If you try to install these gears onto an "Auto" diff it will never work.

Ordered the 4.08 and bearing kit for an R200 I'm building with a KAAZ 1.5 way LSD to go into my Honda S2000 which is supercharged and makes 433hp and 282 torque which was too much for the factory S2000 diff (ask me how I know)... Went 4.08. Highly recommend if you are staying NA. The Z34 needed this from factory. Engine rpm at 120km/h in 6th is 2900-3000 with this fitted. So 400-500 increase from the stock 3.69

The quality of this product is excellent I can not wait to get it installed and feel the difference it creates in my 350Z drift car. This is a must have item for anyone racing a 350Z due to the ratios provided in the stock gearbox between 2nd and 3rd having such a large gap and leaving you on the limiter or bogging down. This modification allows you to exploit 3rd gear in a more desirable rev range and make use of the torque the 3.5ltr has. Great product Z1 and well made!! Thanks Steve
