Keep your oil temperature under control with an oil cooler kit from Z1! The Z1 Oil Cooler Kit fits all Infiniti Q50 and Q60 models equipped with the rear wheel drive VR30 3.0t powertrain.
Managing oil temperature on a turbocharged car is important to the longevity of the engine and turbos. On the Red Sport Q50 and Q60, Infiniti deals with high oil temperature by using a small oil cooler that is installed behind the front bumper and just in front of the heat exchanger. This is a good solution for a stock car that is primarily street driven, however, tuned cars that see repeated abuse will begin to suffer from high oil temperature. This is even more true on non-Sport models that only receive a small water to oil heat exchanger. The Z1 Oil Cooler Kit was developed using our VR30 swapped 370Z and Q60 as a test-bed with countless hours of testing on and off the track. Through our testing, we have seen oil temperature drop an average of 18 degrees over non-Sport models in track conditions.
The Z1 Q50 / Q60 3.0t Oil Cooler kit ditches the factory oil filter housing on both the Red Sport and non-Sport models. For the Red Sport models, this means that the small factory oil cooler lines get replaced with -10AN lines and full flow AN fittings. For the non-Sport models, this means getting rid of the factory water to oil heat exchanger, which we have found acts more as an oil heater than an oil cooler. The new oil filter housing features a low-profile two-piece design made of 6061 Aluminum and provides a platform to attach a Mocal sandwich plate adapter, the same unit used in our other oil cooler kits. For this kit, we’ve also upgraded the oil filter stud that normally comes with the Mocal sandwich plate. After years of using the Mocal adapters, we’ve found that it can sometimes be difficult to find a thin-walled socket that fits the 1” hex stud design. The Z1 Motorsports stud design features a 12mm allen key in the through-hole, just like the factory Nissan filter studs. The combination of the low-profile oil filter housing and the Mocal sandwich plate adapter means that when it comes time to service your car, you can purchase any oil filter designed for the VR engine.
Our oil cooler lines are made from -10 AN PTFE lined stainless steel hose and have a protective braided wrap to prevent damage to the chassis and lines from rubbing. We utilize full flow -10AN fittings with a captive banjo ORB for precise line fitment and routing. The stainless steel oil cooler bracket is designed to allow flexibility in where the oil cooler is actually mounted. It can be mounted in the middle of the bracket, or it can be offset to one side to accept another cooler mounted next to it, such as a transmission fluid cooler. Between the bracket sections, rubber bushings are used to isolate engine and chassis vibrations felt by the core and lines. The Z1 Oil Cooler Kit was designed with the highest quality products available to provide efficient cooling, trouble-free usage, and simple installation.

Cooler Size: At the heart of this package is an oil cooler core in your choice of 20-row or 25-row. Choose between the Z1 ProCooler or Setrab 9-series.

- 20 Row (16" x 1 7/8" x 6 1/16") -- Recommended for most light street applications or applications in colder climates where less cooling is required.
- 25 Row (16" x 1 7/8" x 7 9/16") -- Recommended for more intense applications where occasional track use will be seen, or in high-temperature climates where more cooling is required.
Sandwich Plate Adapter: You may choose between the Standard Non-Thermostatic Mocal Sandwich Plate adapter and a Thermostatic model. It is highly recommended that a Thermostatic sandwich plate adapter be purchased when installing an oil cooler onto a street-driven car. As important as it is to keep high oil temperature under control, it is just as important to maintain the proper temperature to ensure the highest possible lubrication.

Installation Note: Vehicles equipped with adaptive cruise control may require the removal of the adaptive cruise control module located inside the front bumper for installation. If this module is moved, dealership programming may be necessary.
